What are the precautions for daily operation of plastic crushers?

2025-06-30

Preparation and inspection before operation

1. Equipment inspection

  • Check whether the various components of the crusher (such as blades, screens, bearings, belts) are intact, whether they are loose, cracked, or worn, and ensure that the screws are tightened.

  • Check if there are any foreign objects blocking the inlet and outlet to ensure smooth material passage.

  • Confirm that the lubrication system has sufficient oil and add lubricating oil to the bearings and other parts according to the instructions.

2. Electrical and safety devices

  • Check whether the power circuit is aging or leaking, whether the grounding device is reliable, and avoid the risk of electric shock.

  • Test whether the emergency stop button is sensitive, whether the safety protection doors (such as protective covers and interlocking devices) are closed normally, and it is strictly prohibited to remove the safety protection devices for operation.

3. Material pretreatment

  • Ensure that the plastic material to be crushed is dry, free of metal impurities (such as screws, nails), and free of moisture or liquids to avoid damaging the blades or causing equipment failure.

  • Adjust the crushing parameters (such as blade clearance and speed) according to the material type (such as hard plastic, soft plastic) to avoid overloading operation.

Norms and safety in operation

1. Start and Run

  • Start the crusher with no load first, wait for the equipment to run smoothly (without abnormal vibration or noise), and then slowly and evenly feed the materials. It is strictly prohibited to feed a large amount of materials at once or forcefully squeeze the materials.

  • Closely observe the operation status of the equipment during operation. If any abnormal noise, severe vibration, bearing overheating (temperature exceeding 60 ℃) or odor is found, immediately press the emergency stop button, cut off the power, and check for faults.

2. Personnel operation standards

  • Operators are required to wear protective equipment (such as helmets, gloves, goggles, earplugs), and are prohibited from wearing loose clothing or jewelry. Long hair must be tied up.

  • It is strictly prohibited to insert hands or tools into the feeding port, crushing chamber or discharging port while the equipment is running. If cleaning or adjustment is required, the machine must be stopped and the power must be cut off first.

  • Avoid single person operation, at least two people should work together to handle emergencies in a timely manner.

3. load control

  • Strictly feed according to the rated power and processing capacity of the equipment to prevent motor burnout or blade deformation caused by overload.

  • It is recommended to classify and crush different types of plastics (such as PVC, PE, PP) to avoid mixing and crushing that may affect efficiency or produce harmful substances.

Maintenance and shutdown after operation

1. Shutdown process

  • Stop feeding first, wait for the material in the crushing chamber to be completely discharged, and then turn off the motor to avoid material residue causing difficulty in starting next time.

  • Cut off the main power supply, lock the switch box, and hang the "shutdown maintenance" sign.

2. Cleaning and maintenance

  • Clean up plastic debris and dust inside and outside the equipment to prevent them from accumulating and causing fires or equipment corrosion (compressed air can be used for blowing, and washing electrical components with water is prohibited).

  • Check the wear of the blades, replace passivated or damaged blades in a timely manner, adjust the mesh aperture to ensure uniform crushing particle size.

  • Regularly lubricate and tighten transmission components such as belts and gears to extend equipment lifespan.

3. Safe Closing

  • Clean the work area, remove flammable and explosive materials, maintain good ventilation, and avoid the accumulation of plastic dust.

  • Record the running time, fault situation, and maintenance content of the equipment for future reference during maintenance.

Special safety warning

  • Fire and explosion risks: Dust generated during the plastic crushing process can easily cause explosions. It is necessary to avoid open flames, equip with fire extinguishers, and regularly clean up dust.

  • Noise and dust protection: Long term exposure to high noise (exceeding 85 decibels) and dust requires wearing protective equipment and regular occupational health checks.

  • Training requirements: Operators must undergo professional training, be familiar with equipment operating procedures and emergency plans, and are strictly prohibited from working without training.

Following the above precautions can effectively reduce operational risks and ensure the safe and efficient operation of plastic crushers. If there is a complex malfunction in the equipment, it is recommended to contact professional maintenance personnel for handling. Do not disassemble the core components by yourself.
